Your sketches speak for themselves

“I recently had a conversation about the importance of sketching and my job. With the prevalence of computer 3D software, fewer and fewer graduates from the design profession are entering the “real” world with the ability to hold a pen, pencil, paintbrush – whatever – and work through their ideas, explore concepts,  or sit across from a client and communicate through drawings. In my office, there are some interns that don’t even keep a roll of trace at their desks while I currently have 9 rolls at mine. I also have  a pen drawer that has at least 10 pens in there with different tips and colors. I start every project by sketching.”

Multilevel calamities, cross parallel hi-jinks and me without some spectacular device to fix this fissure in the dimensional tear.  In place of a regular comic This EMPIRE is another sketch-swap from the weekly #SketchBomb-NC. This item was suggested by Todd D; Draw anything in mechanical setting, switch with another and riff on the idea. Well my sketch is on the left Marko is on the right took a future spin on the idea.

Will Eisner Comic Industry Award Nominees 2013

The Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards, commonly shortened to the Eisner Awards, are prizes given for creative achievement in American comic books, sometimes referred to as the Comics Industry’s equivalent of the Oscar Awards.  The Eisner Awards were first conferred in 1988, created in response to the discontinuation of the Kirby Awards after 1987. They are named in honor of the pioneering writer and artist Will Eisner, who was a regular participant in the award ceremony until his death in 2005.

Comic-Con International (Comic-Con) is proud to announce the nominations for the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards 2013. The nominees, chosen by a blue-ribbon panel of judges, reflect the wide range of material being published in comics and graphic novel form today, from crime noire to autobiographical works to cartoon adventures.
