Bob Borson, Life of an Architect

I get asked a lot (as in every single day) about architects and their ability to sketch.

“Do you have to be good at drawing if you want to be an architect?” or

I want to be an architect but I can’t draw, doesn’t everybody just do 3D modeling these days?”

No, architects don’t just do 3D modeling these days. And, no, you don’t have to draw well to be an architect. I’m not an artist but I can sketch well enough to communicate an idea, and that is what’s important to me.

Sweetness another posting from #Sketchbomb-NC and an a very interesting quote. I think I reference this issue before in another post. The sketch above is from Matt Bell another attended of our weekly shenanigans. A running joke during these outing seems as if by design Matt and Marko can’t be in the same room to sketch 🙂 when one is there the other one mysteriously can’t make it (insert sound effect drama button).

Pacific Rim (2013)

Action | Adventure | Fantasy

“As a war between humankind and monstrous sea creatures kaiju wages on, a former pilot and a trainee are paired up to drive a seemingly obsolete special weapon in a desperate effort to save the world from the apocalypse.”

*Kaiju (怪獣, kaijū) is a Japanese word that literally translates to “strange creature”

love letter to Kaiju film genre, maybe, just maybe Japan can finally accept our sincere apology about Godzilla (1998). Someone pointed some valid criticism about film, they were spot on. On well were not friends anymore, I’m kidding 🙂 I mention similar points in another film. But as the “bearded one” once pointed out, I walked in as an informed consumer.  Well fanboy, slightly fan-antic, in his glee of film magic.

San Diego Comic Convention July 17/18 -21

MISSION STATEMENT
Comic-Con International: San Diego is a nonprofit educational corporation dedicated to creating awareness of, and appreciation for, comics and related popular artforms, primarily through the presentation of conventions and events that celebrate the historic and ongoing contribution of comics to art and culture.

I didn’t know there was mission statement, this is a juggernaut of a event almost as one convention is over the next year one is already sold out. Yes, this did really happen.

If you are around Friday July 20th
