Sketching is like breathing…
In between regular postings of This EMPIRE are “yesteryear” strips and sketches.

“…A sketch may serve a number of purposes: it might record something that the artist sees, it might record or develop an idea for later use or it might be used as a quick way of graphically demonstrating an image, idea or principal.”

“Sketching is quite different from finished art work. It is sometimes just doodles, sometimes a thought process, and sometimes a practice.”

Great Googly Moogly, I am such a geek about this stuff. The story, screenplay, producing, directing, acting, scoring the music… oh dear then there’s the junkets. There is story behind it, I might share one day, but it’s kind of lame 🙂 Since the film’s opening in my very, very small views into the internet I have been coming across various forms of fandom / fanart illustrations, and writings.
Sairobee – This is all I have to say about fanart/fic.
“I think the reason why derivative works make so much sense to me is that they imply that fictional worlds work like our own; that characters and situations don’t just cease to exist once attention of the original creator is turned from them. To me, to deny the validity of derivative works is denying the basic truth that the world keeps spinning even when my eyes are closed.”

If you can guess the reference (it’s so perfect) you will get a no-prize.
Since this being user created images there is a wide spectrum of topics and ideas. A w—i—d—e spectrum, search at your own peril and amusement 😉 Let me know what you find.
Thank you for reading, back to making comics.
